If a short-film is 10 minutes or less, it may be submitted in its entirety. If it is longer than 10 minutes, it is suggested the scenes showing the best performances be edited into a submission video that is no longer than 3 minutes. Remember, less can be more!
Ideally, the submission video should be an MP4 video file at a 640 x 360 aspect ratio (click on the link) – please include a slate-graphic card at the head of the video.
Acceptable Video File Types: MP4 (MPEG-4), MOV, AVI, WMV.
Maximum File Size: if possible, the file size should not exceed 25MB.
Video File Title: make sure the title of the video file starts with the young artist's last name, followed by a hyphen
A Vimeo or YouTube Channel link to the submission video can be provided on the online Submission Form or via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The video can be set to unlisted or passworded (if set to private the video cannot be viewed and it will be discarded.)
To be eligible, the young artist must have been between the ages of five (5) and eighteen (18) when their project was in production; the work must have been nationally aired (or streamed) on television, released theatrically or played in a film festival between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
If more than one performance is to be submitted, be sure to provide a separate edited video. Each additional performance must be submitted with a separate Submission Form, at the reduced multiple-entry rate.
Please also upload a headshot and a lifestyle photo with the Submission Form. This is optional for subsequent submissions.
If you experience any online issues when the Submit button is clicked, please try re-submitting using a different web browser. Also be sure your computer operating system and web browser(s) have the latest updates. Please notify: Submissions@YoungArtistAwards.org is you have any questions.
